Romados is preparing to open a new location at 301A Brunswick Blvd. in Pointe-Claire, with the restaurant telling West Island Buzz that it expects to open within the next few weeks.
The Pointe-Claire restaurant will be Romados’ third location, following its original Plateau location and a second restaurant that opened in Laval earlier this year.
And there’s another piece of good news for longtime Romados fans: the Pointe-Claire restaurant has received the permit it needs to cook its chicken over charcoal.
Romados confirmed to West Island Buzz that the new location will have the same menu and concept as its Montreal and Laval restaurants, including its signature charcoal-grilled Portuguese chicken.
A Montreal institution heads west

Romados has been a fixture on Rachel Street for more than 30 years, building a loyal following around Portuguese-style charcoal-grilled chicken, piri-piri sauce, fries, sandwiches and Portuguese pastries.
The original restaurant closed in 2020 after 27 years under the Machado family, before reopening in 2021 under former manager George Karaglanis and Vicki Eliopoulos.
Expansion came earlier this year when Romados opened its second location in Vimont, Laval, in March. At the time, Karaglanis said customers had repeatedly been asking them to bring the restaurant north of Montreal.
Now they’re heading west.
What to expect
If you haven’t been to Romados before, the star is the charcoal-grilled Portuguese chicken, typically served with fries and their piri-piri sauce.
The menu at the Montreal location also includes chicken sandwiches, poutine, grilled chorizo and Portuguese desserts including pastéis de nata.
The Pointe-Claire location
Romados will open at 301A Brunswick Blvd., at the corner of Brunswick and Saint-Jean in Pointe-Claire.
An exact opening date hasn’t been announced yet, but the restaurant tells West Island Buzz that it expects to open within the next few weeks.
Romados says it will announce the official opening date on Instagram as soon as it’s confirmed.
