Pierrefonds-Roxboro’s new aquatic centre is almost ready

The long-awaited Pierrefonds-Roxboro Aquatic Centre is nearing its grand opening, and the borough says an official announcement is coming soon.

A recent behind-the-scenes tour showed the final finishes and additions taking shape inside the new facility, which will include an eight-lane 25-metre pool, diving boards, a recreational pool with a waterslide and water games, a hammam, and an inclusive universal locker room.

The centre is expected to become a major new gathering place for residents of Pierrefonds-Roxboro and L’Île-Bizard–Sainte-Geneviève. We’ll be watching for the opening date.

Garbage pickup is changing in Pierrefonds-Roxboro (Pierrefonds-Roxboro)

Starting November 2, Pierrefonds-Roxboro’s garbage will be collected every other week, and the borough is trying to make the transition a little less grim. Its new campaign introduces a cast of familiar types: the worrier, the over-prepared fact-checker, the reluctant creature of habit, the motivational coach, and the person who somehow remains calm through every municipal change.

The humour comes with practical advice: reduce what goes in the garbage by sorting recyclables and compostables properly, reusing what you can, donating unwanted items, and making use of the ecocentre.
